Dr. Boyd began her career in dentistry 19 years ago. She grew up in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. While in Baton Rouge, Dr. Boyd attended Louisiana State University and received a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology. Subsequent to graduating from college, Dr. Boyd relocated to New Orleans, Louisiana to attend L.S.U. Dental School. In 2001, Dr. Boyd received her Doctorate of Dental Surgery.

After completing dental school, Dr. Boyd served as a dental officer in the United States Navy. She served two years with the Marines at Camp Pendleton in San Diego, California, and then aboard the USS Theodore Roosevelt in Norfolk, Virginia, also for two years.

Once the four years of service in the military sector were complete, Dr. Boyd began practicing dentistry in the Hampton Roads private sector, as an associate. Dr. Boyd practiced as an associate in three different locations and learned a myriad of techniques.

While practicing dentistry in the private sector, Dr. Boyd decided to call Suffolk her home. While doing so, Jana Boyd Family Dentistry opened its doors in October 2015. In addition to dentistry, Dr. Boyd decided to have Jana Boyd Dentistry help the community by sponsoring the Suffolk Humane Society, (Dr. Boyd has a passion for all animals). In addition, Jana Boyd DDS PC also has sponsored multiple local schools, local sporting activities, "FOR KIDs", needy families, and battered women in the area.

Aside from Dentistry, Dr. Boyd treasures the time she spends with her husband, five children, and three basset hounds. When time allows, she also likes to watch LSU Football games, run, swim, and play tennis.
